Props/costumes
When choosing our props and costume, my group wanted them to enhance the performance instead of it being distracting for the viewer. The props and costume which we decided on using are suitable for our genre, the mies-en-scene makes the trailers come across as more authentic to the audience.
Props:
Car - The car is the main feature of the story as it is used to start the whole story/film
Smoke machine - The smoke machine was used during car crash scenes, this is to portray verisimilitude to the audience.
Headphones - Used in running scenes to create realism of 'going on a run'.
Clipboard, Pen and paper - This prop was used in the therapist scenes which brings reality into the trailer as well.
Photographs - This prop was used during a 'plotting haunting', this prop was used to connote danger.
Packets of food - This prop was used during the haunting in Sainsbury's, this conveys authenticity to the audience.
Knife - The knife connotate's danger and was used in the last haunting to create enigma/mystery.
Costume:
The costumes we used for our victim/protagonist were chosen to portray everyday life and a 'teenage girls style', this is to make audiences who are of a similar age feel more immersed into the storyline.
For the antagonist, as a group we decided to stick to 1 costume, this allowed us to make the costume very strong and scary as the actress was a 'ghost'.
