Classification research for my film


To classify our films we have decide to research into how we should classify it, the BBFC is an independent body which classifies films, there is PG, U, 12A, 12,15 ,18 and R18



12 and 12A certificate

A 12 and 12A classified film is suitable for 12 years and older. Children younger then 12 may see a 12A if they are accompanied by their parent. 

What a 12 and 12A includes:
  • Dangerous behaviour
  • Discrimination
  • Drugs
  • Bad language
  • Nudity
  • Sex
  • Threat and horror
  • Violence

15 certificate

No one younger then 15 can go and watch a film rated 15 in the cinema.

What a 15 includes:
  • Dangerous behaviour
  • Discrimination
  • Drugs
  • Strong language
  • Nudity
  • Sex
  • Sexual violence/ sexual threat
  • Threat and horror
  • Violence

18 certificate

No one younger then 18 can see an 18 rated film due to material shown which can bring harm to people if not the right age.
