The first thriller trailer I will be looking at is a TV spot trailer for 'Gone girl'

Conventions:

• Slow music - tension building soft music
• Slow cuts/long takes at the beginning
• Dark lighting
• Music gets louder and screeches for suspense
• Faster pace
• Quicker cuts
• More upbeat music
• As tension rises there is a montage of shots, and when tension is shown the pace of the editing and takes slow down
• Enhanced sound effects
• Setting isn't really shown, but all the locations where dark and personal (his house)
