TV spot trailers

I am going to be looking at two different TV SPOT trailers from two different genres. I will be analysing each trailer and seeing how they compare to each other. I have chosen the films 'Mary Poppins returns', this film is a musical/fantasy, and the film 'The murder on the Orient Express', this is a crime genre.

'Mary Poppins Returns':

  • production company logo
  • impact sounds - clock chiming
  • a few characters are shown although they aren't developed yet
  • music
  • quick cuts
  • tagline - a new tagline is in-between each shot
  • Names of famous actors/actresses
  • rating - and a box with a review next to the rating
  • release date
  • producers
  • more production companies

'Murder on the Orient Express':

  • production company logo
  • past pace music which almost sounds like a clock
  • main character/detective is shown and the 'criminals'
  • tagline - these tagline's are in-between cuts
  • very fast paced
  • each of the 12 suspects are shown - not a lot is given away
  • rating is shown
  • a reason for the given rating is in a  box next to the rating
  • a dominant image is shown at the end of all of the characters/suspects alone with the detective
  • release date
  • all the actors/actresses names are above them
